How is Daxxify® is different?

It's the only frown line treatment powered by a novel peptide.  This peptide helps stabilize the active ingredient, instead of using human blood products like conventional neuromodulators and injectable frown line treatments. In fact, it does not contain any human or animal byproducts, making it the only vegan neurotoxin available.   The novel peptide also enhances attachment of the active ingredient, acting like a magnet and making more toxin available to enter nerve cells, thus eliciting optimal and longer lasting results. Daxxify® is the only prescription frown line treatment made in the United States. Number of units required to achieve desired results varies from person to person, and please note  the potency units of Daxxify are not interchangeable with other preparation of other neurotoxin treatments, however the treatment cost is comparable with all other neurotoxin treatments available on the market.

For comparison:  typically you will need double the units of Daxxify to equal units of Botox.  Botox average price is $14-20/unit 

Patients who are unhappy with wrinkles and fine lines in their faces can greatly benefit from Daxxify® injections.  Patients who are allergic to cow’s milk protein should not receive this injectable. Those with an allergy to botulinum toxin type A should also not receive  Daxxify® injections. 

Daxxify® injections are done in-office and are often take less than 30 minutes.  After identifying desired treatment areas, your skin is cleaned and a small needle is used to inject Daxxify® into the targeted areas to weaken wrinkle-prone muscles. The number of injections will depend on your personal goals.  The amount of product, realistic expectations , the associated cost and your consent will always be discussed prior to any procedure.  

After receiving Daxxify® injections, you may experience mild swelling and bruising, which typically resolves quickly. There is no downtime associated with this treatment, however you should avoid harsh sun exposure, not press on or rub the treatment area, not exercise, and not drink alcohol for 24 hours. You will also want to avoid laying  flat or directly on the treatment area for at least 4 hours. This will prevent unwanted product migration.  Results are often visible after 1-2 days and can last several months.
